That D was well expected. I decided awhile ago that my science class were far more important, so I kinda blew this one off. I only pulled the D because I scrambled last minute.
*sigh* I was hoping to get it all over at once. Now I have to check back later for Genetics and Microbiology grades. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| Shiiiiit I should have done this months ago, but I'm lazy. Help!
I had no problem with the PA tax license process, but the CA one is crazy complicated. I'm filing as a Doing-Business-As and have a business bank account but I have no FEIN or incorporation info. For all intents and purposes I'm just an individual with an SSN.
For those of you that have already completed the form, what's the proper procedure for a non-CA resident that's not a real, registered business? Do I still need the BOE-403-B form? My BOE-400-SPA is pretty much done.
I'll probably call unless somebody on LJ can provide insightful wisdom, etc. Thanks in advance~ <3 | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |
| semjay and I are looking into getting some front-loader washer/dryer combos in our new house. We have the option to roll the appliances into the mortgage, but I'd like to know what we're getting into before committing to buying a potential piece of crap.
Of course, our home design company was bribed/greased/paid-off to only offer one brand of appliances: GE. (sarcasm) Lovely.
Would anyone out there in the appliance-land/internet-land know how consumers liked these washer/dryer models?
Washers: WBVH5300KWW, WCVH6600HBB, WPDH8900JMG
Dryers: DJXR433ECWW, DPSE810EGWT, DBVH510EHWW, DCVH680EJBB, DPGT650EHMG
I'm not finding a lot of reviews on any of these. The positive ones I do are blatant astroturf. Citing all sorts of baloney technical terms and feel-good terminology that no Regular Joe would normally never use in an internet product review is sooooooooo nineteen ninety-one.
I'm hearing lots of praise for LG's stuff. I'd love to see what they have to offer, but our design center unfortunately supports communism... oh well. [/soapbox]
Would the house come with a default W/D set? I'd much rather replace them and pay off a retail payment plan for a product/brand I choose myself than be forced to pay off a piece of crap for the next 30 years...
Any advice? | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |
| I was playing Katamari Forever at Narse's house, and noticed there was a song on the game by Kimitaka Matsumae. That was a surprise to me, because as far as I knew, he had died about four years ago in some car accident.
So I looked him up: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/松前公高 and OH SNAP he's actually still alive! I thought that information came from a fairly reliable source, too- turns out VJArmy is more like VJArmy-CHAN, right?
Feel free to make me the laughingstock of your state again, hah. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| | I did a little better on that test than I thought, but let's just say I'm not confident I should sell my textbook just yet. x.x | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| My Genetics final exam is in three hours. Quite simply, either I pass this test or I fail the class and lose my full-ride scholarship. And honestly, odds are leaning towards the latter scenario. I've been up for a good portion of the night cramming, but everything just seems hazy to me. The material seems distant and foreign, a feeling I've not often experience when it comes to schoolwork.
So yeah, that's my current life crisis. I just downed a 5-Hour Energy in the hopes of not killing myself driving to campus (not suicidal; my drive to campus is a good hour and I'm running on two hours of sleep). *sigh* After this, I may need cuddles. You've been warned: I may have an emotional breakdown if I fail not only the class, but myself as well. | comments: 6 comments or Leave a comment |
| Thanks for all the ~luv~ yesterday, I feel a ton better today.
At lunch, semjay went to lunch with me at Tom's BBQ and it was delicious. When I got home, we went to see Christmas Carol 3D. I loved it. You can't go wrong with a classic, and if you like Jim Carrey you'll love this movie.
Before the movie we got Chipotle (yum) and I got to play on the didders machine at the movie theater. SN1 patched upgrade cab- pretty decent condition! I can't wait to get my own setup going.
I've decided I'm going to rewrite FARank (again) so I don't have to rely on FA admins to get me my data. I'll just go the spidering route. Very minimal bandwidth cost. That way I can provide more regular updates. Hooray!
Although my stomach is a little queasy this morning. Better bust out the Chipotlaway!
Finally, take a look at my drive to work today. This is one of my favorite phenomena: sunlight reflecting off the bottoms of clouds.

| I've been wanting to do this for awhile, but events have recently occurred that warrant doing it now.
I am creating a TMI filter for this journal. Posts in this filter will include intimate details of my sex life, including descriptions, stories, and (very soon) kinky pictures. I warn you: you may be squicked by some of the stuff I may decide to admit. But it should all be fun! :)
So, want in? Leave a comment in this entry! Please do not assume I will add you if you don't say anything. ;) | comments: 31 comments or Leave a comment |
| As much as I love SomaFM, they only stream a couple of stations on Blackberry phones, and I'm kinda getting burned out on them. (I'd stream on the work machines but I don't know what their policy is on that...)
Instead, I started listening to Pandora at work. I had an account a while back, but it didn't really work out. Fortunately, I've been very impressed with the song selections I've been getting on my stations, and their application works a TON better than BB's shitty built-in media player.
I was tooling around and found out that you can only listen to 40 hours free per month. Since I started listening on Monday, the counter reset on Tuesday, and since I only listen at work, I certainly haven't hit 40 hours yet, but I'm sure I'm damn close.
I can't check remaining hours from my phone's account, so do they still apply? And what happens next week when I run out, does it just stop playing? Also, how hard would it be for SomaFM to stream the rest of their stations to Blackberry devices? It sure would be nice, but I'm sure there are probably some insane licensing/bandwidth problems that prevent it. Blah. | comments: 14 comments or Leave a comment |
| Just thought you'd all find this hilarious:
We've been dealing with a lender for a while now to get this house thing squared away, and I got a call the other day... Warning: numbers ahead!
"I'm calling to let you know that I ran your paperwork and it looks like because you don't have a credit score, the system is changing your mortgage interest rate from 4.875% to 5.25%." How much does that affect my monthly payment? "Let me see... [takes a really long time] It will increase your mortgage by $40/month." What will it take to keep that lower interest rate? "If I keep the lower interest rate, you'll be charged $1400 extra in closing costs." Okay, let's do that. I don't care what the closing costs are. "Well, are you sure you want to go ahead and do that? I'm trying to save you money on closing costs." Absolutely- $40 over the lifetime of the mortgage is *$14,000*, so this is a much better deal. "Are you really going to stay in your house for 30 years? Most first-time homebuyers only stay in their first house for five years on average." True- well, still, saving $40/month for only *three* years will cover that extra $1400 you'll be charging me. "Okay, I'll go ahead and keep the lower interest rate..."
I don't know if I was about to get shafted, or our lender is borderline incompetent, but I seriously ran those numbers in my head a dozen times while on the phone because it didn't make any sense. You're trying to save me $1400 up front, and then charge me $40/month extra? Are you retarded?
How many people do you think would be all over that? I can just see it now- "Holy cow, you're saving me money in the short-run! I like money! Where do I sign?"
What was that all about?
Fun fact: This is the same person that couldn't figure out how to print out the files named "Thumbs.db" in the zip full of scanned paperwork that I sent. For what it's worth. | comments: 10 comments or Leave a comment |
